Can VISTA Suck Even More? Why Yes!!! Vista Runs Out of Memory While Copying Files...

Finally a blog captured what I experienced when trying to fix someone's Inspiron

    (check out the video there.)

    Wow VISTA, its 33k mp3

Working to fix issues with a friend's new Inspiron 5100, I got that error message copying their files. Basically I selected a folder's contents and stated copying to another folder when that appeared. Just like the vid, was stuck on one file.

Maybe I should just downgrade to XP Pro, save them the pain (and yes she hates VISTA). Or Maybe its the bizarre way Windows handles file caching, made worse in VISTA??

Afterall why would anyone choose to use Vista over other faster, cheaper, more stable systems - really

I have downgraded about 10 Vista workstations to XP Pro. Every copy of vista business can be downgraded to XP legally. It should be a crime to have to run Vista, it's simply not ready for the real world.

i really wouldn't care. you paid for an OS, it bites, vista home starts at $160. xp pro is $175. donate $15 to charity and tell karma to call it a day.

Friend's laptop is fixed. And I downgraded to XP Pro.

The darkside presence (aka VISTA) is gone from the laptop.

download a corporate xp cd from a torrent site.

you are entitled to a free downgrade to XP bvut you have to provide your own cd.

the corporate cd is cool because it doesn't need a serial number, nor does it have any activation bs, and windows update works beautifully.

My company got lucky I guess. We were planning to switch everyone to Macs when Vista came out, so we didn't upgrade any of the PCs. Most people still have their PCs, so this has been very beneficial to not have upgraded.

Let's not forget that for PC there is always the open source alternatives, such as Ubuntu and BSD such as OpenBSD.

They are GUI OS and I think easy to use - well I've dabbled in Ubuntu, but before going gaga over Macs, there are alternatives for PC instead of using the ones offered from that company in Seattle.
